GDA Adds Botox and Dermal Filler CE to Annual Meeting
The Georgia Board of Dentistry recently posted a rule that would allow dentists to perform Botox® and Dermal Fillers for functional and cosmetic reasons in connection with a dental procedure. Should the rule be passed, dentists who wish to utilize this treatment modality will be required to take a 21-hour Board approved course. This GDA course is offering a course at the Annual Meeting in Amelia Island that can help you determine if taking the 21-hour course is the right decision for your practice and patients. Please Complete GDA Workforce Census
The Georgia Dental Association needs your help and participation in an important study related to dental workforce. The way you practice dentistry is at stake. The GDA is contracting with the Georgia Health Policy Center and Market Decisions to conduct a dental workforce census which involves contacting every dentist with a Georgia license. Government officials and foundations continue to state that there is a shortage of dentists in Georgia and we need accurate information to determine the true dental workforce in our state. Visit www.marketdecisions.com/GDAsurvey to help the GDA reveal the true picture of Georgia’s dentists, their practice locations, and their current capacity. The survey should take 5 to 10 minutes based on the number of practice locations you have. Thank you.
ADA Answers Dental Access Reports
Two dental-related reports out at the beginning of March: The Pew Center on dental emergency room visits, and a U.S senator on dental access. The ADA has addressed both reports; find statements at www.ada.org. The ADA's take: Access to dental care is complex, dentistry has good solutions, the solutions are multi-faceted, and it is not all about workforce.
The December 2011 GDA Action ran a story about the potential pitfalls of dentists advertising via Groupon-style daily deal sites.
